More About Todd Fortner

Todd is a retired Special Agent with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. He spent nearly 30 years in law enforcement, working his way up the ranks from street patrol to homicide investigations. Todd also retired as a Captain from the Ohio Military Reserve after 10 years serving his state.                                                                   

   Todd started his career as a reserve patrolman in his small hometown. A year later he was hired full time. A few     years after that he was offered a position at his county Sheriff's Office where he spent 12 years. He then had the opportunity to join the Ohio BCI. Todd served 10 years in the Crime Scene Unit and a few years in the Special          Investigations Unit at BCI. Todd has been recognized as an expert in the forensic field and won several awards and accolades for his work in investigations.                                                                                                                    

Todd has had unique experiences in his life and career.  Working on hundreds of violent death investigations and critical incidents, he has learned what traumatic stress looks and feels like. Todd suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression but has learned to manage his symptoms. His hope is, that by sharing and educating, he can spare others from some of the negative experiences he has encountered.                                                           

Todd has been married to his wonderful wife, Nancy, for nearly 30 years. The couple has two adult children, one daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. He loves to spend his time outdoors and yes, he is enjoying retirement!
